How do I delete my account, and what happens to my data?

How to delete your account

Sign in, open the account menu in the top-right corner, and click Delete account (just above Sign out).
The first step lists what you'll lose: your resumes, job applications, remaining membership and remaining credits. Read it, then click I understand, continue.
Click Send code. The code goes to your account email. Enter it, type DELETE in the box below, and click Delete my account.

Cancel your subscription first

Deleting your account does not stop a Pro Monthly or Pro Annual subscription. If you have one, the delete dialog shows a Manage subscription button. Cancel the subscription there before you delete your account, otherwise you'll keep being charged. The one-time 7-Day Pass and 90-Day Job-Hunt Pass never renew, so there's nothing to cancel.

7-day grace period

Your account isn't deleted right away. There's a 7-day grace period, and your account keeps working during it.
A notice stays at the bottom of the site during the grace period. Click Cancel deletion to keep your account. You'll also see it if you sign out and sign back in.
After 7 days the account is deleted for good. This can't be undone.

What gets deleted

All resumes (including version history and Trash), share links, job applications, mock interviews, feedback and support chats.
Your email, password and Google sign-in are removed. Signing in the same way later creates a brand-new account.
Any remaining membership time and credits. If you bought a plan in the last 14 days and want your money back, request a refund through Support before deleting. See Refunds and cancellations.

What we keep

Payment records, as required for legal, accounting and tax purposes. They're no longer linked to you.
An irreversible hashed fingerprint of your email for 12 months, used only to stop repeated sign-ups for new-user perks. You can sign up again with the same email during that time, but new-user credits and offers won't apply.
Backup copies roll off automatically within 60 days.

FAQ

I only want to remove one resume

No need to delete your account. Use the ··· menu on the resume card in your dashboard. Deleted resumes stay in Trash for 30 days.

Will I still get emails during the grace period?

No marketing or renewal-reminder emails are sent during the grace period, and nothing at all after deletion.
