  • Default to PDF: the layout is locked and renders identically everywhere;
  • Export Word only when explicitly asked — it's a clean single-column version that's easy for others to edit, but it doesn't carry the template's visual design;
  • Pasting into an application form? Use "Copy as plain text" in the editor's "···" menu — cleaner than copying out of Word.

FAQ

Are Word and PDF credits counted separately?

No — both formats draw from the same export credit pool. Pro members have unlimited exports in both formats.

Why does the Word file look different from the preview?

Word's layout engine differs from the web. To guarantee the file opens cleanly in every Office / Google Docs version, Word export uses a simplified single-column layout. For a pixel-accurate copy of the preview, export PDF.

Can I export Word on my phone?

Yes — but if you're inside another app's built-in browser, you'll first be guided to open the site in your real browser (in-app pages can't save files).
