Amazon fulfillment centers (FCs) operate on a set of core metrics that every area manager, process assistant, and operations supervisor lives by: units per hour (UPH), pick rate, pack rate, inventory accuracy percentage, and cost per unit. A resume that says "managed warehouse operations" or "supervised 50 workers" gives Amazon’s recruiters — who scan for numbers, not narratives — no signal that you speak their language.
Your Chinese role is likely rich in experience Amazon values: high-volume sortation, cross-docking, WMS (like WMS from Kingdee or SAP), shift management, and safety compliance. But the phrasing must change. Amazon FC job descriptions explicitly list metrics like "maintain pick rate of 350+ UPH" or "reduce damages below 0.1%." Your resume must mirror that vocabulary.
The rule in action: every original "responsibility" becomes a number that Amazon’s operations leadership can compare against their own targets. If you don’t have the exact number, estimate conservatively and label it as an estimate — e.g., "pick rate of ~350 UPH (estimated from shift output of 14,000 units over 40 hours)." Amazon recruiters respect an honest estimate more than a missing number.
Map each of your Chinese job duties to one of these KPIs. If you can’t recall the number, reconstruct it: total output / total hours worked. Or ask a former colleague. A single KPI on a resume is worth ten generic bullet points.
Amazon uses an applicant tracking system (ATS) that parses resumes for keywords and then human reviewers scan for metrics. Here is a formatting fact that matters: ATS parsers read left-to-right, top-to-bottom, and they index the first 500–800 words most heavily.

Original Chinese role: 仓库主管 (Warehouse Supervisor) at a 3PL in Shenzhen.
Duties in Chinese: 负责仓库日常运营,管理50名员工,确保订单准确发货,降低损耗率。
Before (generic English translation): "Responsible for daily warehouse operations, managed 50 employees, ensured orders shipped accurately, reduced loss rate."
After (Amazon FC Area Manager targeted):
Why this works: Every bullet contains a number, an Amazon-relevant metric, and a concrete action. The resume now reads like an internal Amazon operations report, not a generic job description.
Mistake: Translating your Chinese job title literally — e.g., "Warehouse Section Chief" or "Logistics Supervisor" — and then writing duties that sound like a US office manager. Amazon recruiters don't know what a "Section Chief" did.
Fix: Use the equivalent US logistics title — Operations Supervisor, Area Manager, Fulfillment Associate Lead, Shift Manager, Inventory Control Specialist. Choose the title that best matches the Amazon job you’re targeting. If you were a warehouse supervisor, you can reasonably use "Operations Supervisor" or "Fulfillment Supervisor." Then back it up with the KPI bullets above.
If your resume will be checked by an ATS and a human at Amazon, run it through a free checker to see how your keywords align with the job description. PrismResume offers a free resume checker — no sign-up required — that highlights missing keywords and metric gaps.
