Use fleet numbers: fleet size maintained, uptime/availability, breakdowns/road calls reduced, PM completed, and DOT inspections passed. "Maintained a fleet of X with high uptime" and "reduced road calls through PM" prove fleet-mechanic impact.
Maintenance (preventive, scheduled, PM programs), repair (gas/diesel engines, transmissions, brakes), systems (electrical, hydraulics, A/C, diagnostics), diagnostics (scan tools, troubleshooting), compliance (DOT, safety), and credentials (ASE, CDL). Name the repairs and certs.
ASE certifications (including medium/heavy truck or transit bus series) and a CDL strengthen a fleet mechanic resume. Note your ASE certs and license prominently, since they signal verified skill and the ability to road-test fleet vehicles.
