Show the databases you managed and how well:

Naming the platforms and skills makes the resume concrete and ATS-friendly (ATS — the software that screens resumes before a person does).
Place these where they're easy to find; OCP/OCM are strong signals.
A DBA manages databases; a backend software engineer uses them; a systems administrator and network engineer handle adjacent infrastructure. Lead with the database management and optimization focus.

Lead with reliability and performance impact (instances managed, uptime, tuning gains, recovery objectives), show your platform expertise (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server) and skills (tuning, HA, backup/DR, security), and feature certifications. Tailor by level and keep it ATS-readable.
Use database numbers: instances or data volume managed, uptime percentage, query performance improvements, recovery objectives (RPO/RTO) achieved, and incidents resolved. "50+ instances at 99.99% uptime, key queries 60% faster" proves impact.
Oracle certifications (OCA, OCP, OCM) carry the most weight, along with Microsoft SQL Server and cloud database certifications (AWS/Azure). Place them near the top — OCP and OCM are strong signals of expertise.
A DBA resume emphasizes administering databases — performance, availability, backup, security. A data engineer resume emphasizes building data pipelines and infrastructure for analytics. Lead with database management and optimization for a DBA role.
