An Android developer resume has to prove you ship quality apps: you build Android apps that users download, rate well, and rely on — with clean, performant code. Employers want shipped apps and impact, not "developed Android apps." Here's how to write an Android developer resume that lands interviews.
Android development is shipped, quality apps. Lead with what you shipped and its impact.
Show the apps you built and the results:
The pattern: the app or feature → your implementation → the users, rating, or performance result. (See quantify your resume achievements and resume action verbs.)
Naming your stack makes the resume concrete and ATS-friendly (ATS — the software that screens resumes before a person does).
Include links — Play Store apps, GitHub, or a portfolio. Shipped apps with real users and ratings are the strongest proof an Android developer can show. (For broader dev framing, see the software engineer resume guide and full-stack developer resume guide.)
Lead with apps — personal projects published to the Play Store, with the stack and any users. A published app beats an empty work history. Lead with projects and skills — see writing an entry-level resume with no experience.

Lead with shipped apps and impact (downloads, ratings, crash rate, performance), show your technical stack (Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, MVVM), and link your Play Store apps and GitHub. Shipped apps and impact are what employers screen for.
Use app metrics: downloads/active users, app rating, crash rate, performance (startup time, frame rate), and engagement/retention. "500K+ downloads at a 4.6 rating" and "crash rate under 0.5%" prove quality and impact better than "developed apps."
Kotlin (and Java), Android SDK and Jetpack (including Compose), architecture (MVVM, clean architecture), APIs/data (REST, Room), testing (Espresso), and tools (Android Studio, Gradle, CI/CD). Name the modern stack, since postings and ATS screen for it.
Lead with apps you've built and published to the Play Store, including the stack and any users or ratings, plus GitHub links. A published app demonstrating modern Android (Kotlin, Compose) beats an empty history for junior and self-taught developers.
An Android developer resume should reflect the role — shipping, technical, and impactful. PrismResume helps you turn "developed Android apps" into shipped apps, a modern stack, and impact, in a clean, ATS-readable layout. Try the free resume check at prismresume.com.
