A designer resume should pair visual craft with user-experience thinking. Let a strong portfolio do the heavy lifting and back design decisions with evidence and outcomes.
Put your portfolio first: link Behance, Dribbble, or a personal site, and feature 2-3 case studies that show process, not just final screens. Walk through decisions: the user research, usability testing, and iterations behind key designs. Quantify design impact: higher task completion, lower bounce rate, improved conversion or SUS/NPS scores. Name your toolkit (Figma, prototyping, design systems) and any handoff or accessibility work with engineering. Keep the resume itself clean and ATS-readable on one page; no photo or personal/discriminatory fields.
